Biography
Dr. Guntenspergen is a senior landscape ecologist with the United States Geological Survey and Adjunct Senior Research Associate at the Natural Resources Research Institute, University of Minnesota. In addition, he is the Co-Editor In Chief of Urban Ecosystems, an International Journal published by Kluwer Publishers. Dr. Guntenspergen received his doctoral degree in 1984 from the University of Wisconsin. He was a Research Assistant Professor at Louisiana State University before joining the USGS.

His interests include wetland, urban, and landscape ecology. He serves as an observer on the Scientific and Technical Research Panel of the RAMSAR Convention of Wetlands and has served as Secretary-General of the Society of Wetland Scientists. Dr. Guntenspergen also serves as a member of the United Nations Man and the Biosphere Urban Roster Experts.

His interests include understanding the impact of adjacent land use and land cover change of ecosystem structure and function. Glenn currently is developing landscape models to predict the impacts of global climate change.
