Biography
Susanna Lehvävirta is busy finishing her Ph.D. that deals with the ecology of urban forest remnants and philosophy of science. At the same time she runs other projects, all of which handle the urban woodlands from some perspective:
1) The effect of fragmentation and trampling on the woodland dynamics, a multi-taxa approach including vegetation, soil microbes, land snails, carabids and spiders.
2) Spatial distribution of trampling and tree regeneration in urban woodlands.
3) The effect of dog faeces on the soil and vegetation in urban woodlands.
4) The use of logs as natural barriers against trampling.
She is also a keen but humble student of philosophy and methodology of science.
