Biography
U. Mörtberg is a Ph.D. student and research engineer at the Department of Land and Water Resources Engineering, Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. She holds a M.Sc. Degree in biology and earth sciences from the University of Stockholm. Her areas of research address landscape ecology, especially in urban environments, and its use as an instrument in strategic planning.

Her research interests are mainly in landscape ecology of urbanizing areas, together with landscape ecological considerations in planning, and she has worked with several research projects, on subjects related to these interests. One subject has been fauna management in built-up environments, studying forest, wetlands and small water habitats. Other projects are dealing with landscape ecological analysis and assessment in urbanizing areas, and prediction tools for biodiversity in impact assessments.
